20 years of laughter: special session at the Diòptria Cineclub

After 20 years in existence, Clowns without Borders have made more than 700 expeditions to over 98 countries; more than 10,000 shows that director Sanchez Alonso has bravely managed to condense into 8 minutes and 30 seconds of documentary. Set in an urban landscape, stunning images are projected onto giant advertising billboards and appear throughout the film documenting this incredible work. This will be the premiere showing of this video commemorative.

Following this from the same director we will show the documentary «Viaje al Planeta Rojo». A work that first premiered in 2010; the thesis project from this young director from Almeria. A thirty minute testimony portraying the daily life of the children of the Palestinian refugee camps in the South Lebanon, and their excitement at the clowns arrival.

After a short break, one for the serious addicts, «El riure contra la guerra», by Carles Caparrós; an emotive documentary first shown in 2008 that follows an expedition of Clowns Without Borders with their founder Tortell Poltrona leading the way. A dive into the misery of Sub-Saharan Africa contrasted by the joy and laughter the clowns bring.
