Open heart surgery show

There are some characters who completely swallow up the actors. It happened to Rowan Atkinson with Mr Bean, to Tom Selleck with Magnum, and the list could go on and on. It could have happened to Manuel Manquiña with Pazos: that honest hard working Galician-Portuguese drug dealer from the cult 90's film "Airbag".

Luckily Manuel Manquiña the actor got other work. He's still capable of outrage, like any other normal citizen. With this latest work, in between monologue and soliloquies, Manquiña tell us a few things that we've all been thinking. It's a show that mixes intelligence with a small dose of barbarism. There are few like him when it comes to making people laugh; a scathing critic on current affairs and politics.

It's not only his last work, El Indignado. Travelling from West coast to East coast doesn't happen every day, so Manuel Manquiña will treat us to a selection of gems from other shows as well.

Manuel Juan Francisco del Cristo de la Victoria Prieto Comesaña, stage name Manuel Manquiña, is a Galician actor who's appeared in more than 30 films and combines cinema with interpretation and theatre direction. This year the Festival Còmic puts him in the spotlight. Through the showing of the film "Airbag" and this show we get to know an actor who is synonymous with great humour.
