THE INAUGURAL GALA

El Jardí Theatre, Friday 19th of April, 21:00 h

Josep Maria Portavella, Pepa Plana, Xuriguera i Faixedas, Reugenio, The Chanclettes, Borja González, David Batlló

When the objective is to offer a truly unique show, packed with laughs and led by home grown talent, the possibilities are endless. They are all fruit and nut cakes.

The solution was to ask the oracles. There was a unanimous vote between the sorcerers, astrologers and toads: Reugenio in goal (stool and all), Xuriguera i Faixedas in defense, David Batlló and Borja González weaving magic in the midfield, The Chanclettes in attack, and Pepa Plana with jet lag.

And driving the coach is Josep Maria Portavella, who after inaugurating the new Molino club in Barcelona, knows how to shoot the starting gun of a cabaret.

Reugenio needs no presentation, his jokes never pass their sell by date, his sobriety, explosive. Xuriguera i Faixedas we mention for their ability to make the audience die with laughter with their absurdities and repetitions, village dialects and comedy disgraces.

The sand artist Borja Gonzalez, stage name Ytuquepintas, creates a sand storm of humour. Fantastically funny projections combined with the inverse juggling magical tap dancing of David Battló, another young and rising talent. And in the middle of all this the extravagant, irreverent and quite shameless The Chanclettes.

Pepa Plana is a special case. After completing a season with Cirque Du Soleil, we have her in the decompression dressing room. The audience at the Festival comic is a tough gig.
