A little slice of history

Featuring extracts from the book "Història del Teatre a Figueres (1816-1991)" edited by the Publication Department of the Local Council of Figueres

It started in 1932 when Antoni Calvet and grandpa Vega thought of designing a curtain with advertising spaces of different prices and sizes. These little modules were costing 10 pesetas a year. The Figueres Town Theatre, the current Dalí Museum, was administrated by the Guasch-Bech Association, who was also responsible for the conservation and restoration of the building.

The private investment has always had to use imagination to move forward. 78 years later we have redeveloped this idea. We hope that as it happened in the times of the Republic the curtain will be a big success. Thanks to all our sponsors for their support for the Comedy Festival.
